What is Self-Sabotage?

At its core, self-sabotage is sensing that something isn’t right for you - and continuing anyway.

What does it look like?

Self-sabotage often shows up in subtle, everyday ways - negative self-talk, avoidance, overthinking, unhealthy coping habits, or staying in relationships, roles, or jobs that no longer fit. It can look like comfort eating, endless scrolling, procrastination, or repeating behaviors you’ve already promised yourself you’d stop, even when you know they’re working against what you want.

Why does it happen?

Self-sabotage develops as a protective response. Patterns form through stress, repetition, emotional safety needs, conditioning, and learned beliefs.
